Would be nice to get these cut down to 3-4 feet. Is there anyone who can do this. Apparently Neumann won't do it unless they are under warranty. Buying new ones really isn't an option.
The cables are so thin it would make a big bump if you spliced them.... just take up the slack and tie it off at the body end. then it is available when need be..

Thanks for the info...that is what I've been doing, but it's taking up more ball space than I care for it to.....hehe. :yikes:
does the connector at the mic body end dissasemble? If it does, you could take it apart, cut to length, and resolder the ends of the cable to the connector. I thought about doing this with my 4022's when I had them, but they terminate in a standard XLR with a little circuit board.
this IS a doable thing, but i'd havta advise against it at all costs.
any variation/ splice in the wires of a low resistence/ high voltage system like this is asking for trouble. resistance is a main factor, and any cut/ splice will alter the flow enough to render high quality cables like Neumann LC3s ineffective at best.
you really answered your own question when you said Neumann wouldn't touch it... ;)
