Title: Sightly Wabbly playback on clean dat
Post by: IceMan on February 06, 2006, 12:03:23 PM
I just had my D8 serviced and used it for the first time since on Sat night.
I taped 2 bands.  The first band the DAT seems fine.  The second (same dat) when I play back almost
seems "wobbly" at times.  They were super loud and I am wonderig if there was some clipping.  I had the levels low off the
line in to prevent overload (about 6-7 or so).  When I play back I also feel like i need to have the volume WAY up and it still
seems a tad muffled/wabbly.  Could it just be an overload?  Just curious as I hope to tape again tomorrow and wonder if its worth
taking a shot (I plan to trust me) but wonderin if I really need to be worried.  It might be a wait and see.

Fresh batteries, "clean" deck, decent levels on the "line in"

Thanks.

i may have just figured this out..my roll off box may have been swithced over to "FLAT" from Filter...and therefore there may have been issues.  I wanna pull a good tape tomorrow so I hope all this stress is for nuttin.
