Title: JB3 - live & studio????
Post by: tbowen on February 16, 2006, 12:24:45 AM
Question:

Im thinking of getting one of these babies as my main piece for my live rig, but I have a question...can I use it to record myself? Like, if I have myself or my band, or anything for that matter going into my mackie 16 channel board, can I take a line out and go into the jb3 and get a good quality? Also, if I can, first, do I need an amp for the board, and do I need a preamp in the line from board to jb3? I'm not looking for "Pro Tools" quality here, just a way to get a solid recording of any jams I wanna lay down or riffs I dig on. Thanks guys...

Sure.  Go right ahead.  Good quality is dependent on the signal that the JB3 is being fed, of course  ;)  But it's just like patching out of a SBD at a show.

Welcome aboard and +t to you.

thanks for that swift, helpful reply. One more question: do I need an amp with the mackie board, or a preamp in the line? Thanks in advance!
