I used to have one. I found a picture which helped jog my memory a little bit.

The rec-mode button on the lower left has two positions. You can use this to toggle 32kz or 48kHz (???). As I recall, this might be what changes the sampling rate for analog sources.

When recording from the digital input, it will lock onto the rate of the source. 32kHz, 44.1kHz, or 48kHz.

hmmm, it seems to be switching itself somehow, i dunno, it doesnt seem to want to play anything, it will just sit there and the 48hz light will just flash when i press play.

During playback, the sampling rate will change depending upon what rate it detects that the tape was recorded with.

If its a blank tape it might flash like that. If it flashes with a good recorded tape, then that could indicate that it needs servicing.
