Anyone know what kind of Earthworks they use on stage?
If I am seeing the purple ring around the body correctly they are QTC1's
isn't better for them to vertical?

ummm.. no
Thanks for all your helpful info. :P
For someone else please --
Omni Earthworks I thought are based for vertical alignment?
No mention of that on the Earthworks website. Those mics could be a QTC-1, a QTC-40 (according to the website same as the QTC-1), or a QTC-50. No mention of anything like that for any of them. Ive never seen any Earthworks used in a vertical alignment, Im pretty sure they are set up in the normal fashion.
All of the Earthworks mics are addressed on-axis.

I've seen some onstage setups with a vertical alignment. Generally though, side stage omni.

they are QTC-1s or QTC-40's (same mic, different numbers... I have a set of both).

They are most likely only being used for ambiant mics in a multi-track if they are sidestage, thus I could see why they might be angled upwards for that.
