Title: MiniMe -> AES out -> VxPocket V2?
Post by: rustoleum on February 24, 2006, 02:10:02 PM
Anyone have any experience feeding a VxPocket V2 from the AES out of a MiniMe?  I got bit at Phil on Wednesday by the not-quite-snug fit of my new right-angled coax connector and couldn't feed my VxPocket a digi-signal... I ended up running MiniMe -> Headphone Out -> Vaio (Mic-in) and while it's listenable, I'd rather not ever have to do that again.  I think in the future maybe a right-angled AES connection to the Vx will be more secure, if it works.  Anyone know?

If it does, who can do a Right Angled AES -> Coax cable for me... ToddR?  KindKables?  Someone else?  Thanks!

Does your MiniMe not have USB?

I do have a USB out and I used it this way for ~2 years, but I got tired of the flimsy usb connection into the vaio, and getting bit by driver issues where the OS would just suddenly not recognize the mme.  It wasn't common but happened enough to make me try other things.

I've been running mme -> vx pocket for about a year, but recently switched to some right angle adapters that don't fit the coax as well as the straight cable I was using.  I figure as long as  I need to buy a new adapter or cable  that the AES will be more rugged.

Thanks for the feedback, cayman!

I switched to right-angles to cut down the real estate taken up by the mme and the various cables plugged into it.
