I'm looking for a digital-out soundcard to pop in the PCMCIA slot of my windows based laptop.
Any suggestions ?
An outboard DAC will be doing the work, so bit-transparency is all I need.
Optical/coax/AES-BUI all good.
24/96 desireable, but 16/44.1 OK, since the HD is already full of junk for work anyhow ::)

there is the digigram vx pocket - it is limited to 2448
you could also try the m-audio transit - usb based, so limited to 2448, but gives you optical in/out

I 2nd the vx pocket but......
there is a RME digiset w/ PCMCIA card in the yard ale. it will do 24/96 at least and is a pro card as well.
very nice piece of EQ.

I like my VX. Good deals popping up on ebay occasionally.
