Another dumb question... I'm about to buy some 853rxs, but I was wondering if most places will shorten the cable for you if you ask. I could probably do it myself, but to be honest I'm too lazy and would prefer to hav someone else do it.
Also, are the new unipoint mics as small as the previous iteration?

I don't know about most places, but I think Soundpros would probably do it for you, though they might charge you extra :P

shortening them is incredibly easy. They come with directions on how to do it

Exactly. Expect soundpros to do it for you. If not, ask someone here, like Sanjay :)

the new mics are the same size... the old caps will fit them...
as far as shortening the rx version, like the previous peeps said - very easy. the p48 adapter on the end has the leads screwed into the terminals, so no soldering. the tricky ones are the 853a which have the mini xlrs on the ends... those are a bitch to work with...

You can send them to me. We do this type of work. We also do a mod to these mics that lowers the distortion a great deal. Pm me if your interested in talking about this service.
