Hi,yesterday play my r1 on stealth. My internals died at the end of the first set and the r1 shut down. I wasn't worried because I had understood that when it happens the r1 auto-save the file (similar that happen on jb3 with internals) But today when I switch-on the r1 I have the file of recording with 0 bytes!!! I can recover the recording? I have the file but without any info! Maybe understood wrong? I read the manual but i didn't found the answer...please any comment about that?

I have tried this way...but a message like this appear after write chkdsk /f on DOS window
""The type of the file system is FAT32
the present unit cannot be blocked"
"Chkdsk cannot be executed since the volume is being used by another process. Chkdsk can be executed if this volume dismounts previously.ALL ThE IDENTIFIERS TO THIS VOLUME WILL NOT BE BEEN WORTH. It wishes to force the disassembling of this volume?"
I said Yes and a new message it appears
"CHKDSK cannot be executed because another process already is using the volume. It wishes that east volume is prepared so that the next time is verified that begins the system?"
And say yes again, and after reload the system, it happens the same. I have winxp, and I have tried the chkdsk with the CF into the r1 and with a reader of CF's
I have Windows XP, and a CF Sandisk Ultra II, I have tried on two diferents pc's
Anybody know what can I do for recover my files, are those with 0 bytes

I have tried with pcinspector but no exit, anybody know a good program for recover corrupted files of CF
Yhanks in advance

explorer can't be accessing the drive letter currently. can't even have 'my computer' open showing the r1 currently residing at drive H:\ or whatever it selects.
i solved this problem once before, i'll try it when i get home from my gig tonight and give you some mo' ideas.
here, try this in the meantime -- see if you get any better results when you take the card out of the r1 and mount it in a card reader?
buena suerte.

i've run into this problem once before when a buddy accidentally turned off his R-1 without stopping the recording first. we encountered the SAME additional messages you described, listed here:
"CHKDSK cannot be executed because another process already is using the volume. It wishes that east volume is prepared so that the next time is verified that begins the system?"
you are correct, choose YES, then reboot your computer (and, obviously, leave the R-1 hooked up to the computer). when the computer reboots, try to drag & drop the file onto your computer--onto the desktop or a data partition, or wherever you normally copy the file to.
then, rename the file's extension to ".PCM" (without the quotation marks). then you open it with a WAV editor (we used Adobe Audition), and simply re-save the file while in Adobe Audition to "artist2005-xx-xx.WAV"... the new file written is the "usable master" WAV file.
it was a bit of trial and error, and frustrating, for my buddy and i when we encountered this--because nowhere was there mention of the additional questions in the command prompt window (about dismounting the volume etc.), nor about renaming the extension to .PCM and re-saving the file using a WAV editor.
hope this helps.
