I know one guy who runs a Marantz CD recorder, but I don't know if it's this one or the version without the hard drive. He records straight to CD, so I'm guessing it's the other version.

wow, $1200!!!! seems kinda pricey to me??
-

That thing looks pretty cool. I found one for $1,099 here: http://www.churchsoundstore.com/product_info.php/products_id/343

I have friends that borrowed one from Marantz when they first came out...they loved it.

Am I the only one who noticed that it has but 1, as in "one", XLR input ???
No..it has two. Go here http://www.churchsoundstore.com/product_info.php/products_id/343 and click to enlarge. Perhaps you were looking at the back of the unit which is the power source (looks like xlr though)

Nah - that silver XLR on the rear is a 4-pin XLR for external 12V powering and possibly charging. There is a pair of black 3-pin XLRs on the front marked Mic/Line for Left and Right inputs, as well as what look like 1/4" inputs right next to the XLRs.

Nope...but then again, I couldn't afford it right now anyway. >:( Hey svenkid...I see your in Humboldt. +T ;D I lived in Redding for awhile and took trips to Humboldt every chance I got. You ever go to the Tribal Stomp? You spend any time up in Oregon? I hope to make a trip back west to visit this summer. (I've been doing the Oregon Country Fair for the past five years) I miss being around the mountains.
Take it easy.

I wonder what the A/D and pre sound like in it ?
Somehow seems more complicated than what you'd need in most field applications.
'Tho could be handy when doing up a festival or following a tour.
Could keep mailing CDs back home....

Don't know why I didn't know to look at the front of these rigs... I thought they all pretty much are layed out like the PMD6xx units. someone -T me and do it quick!
Hey..a lot of us make mistakes...especially if you're a :smoking2: Not that you are...or any of us :P
I'll give you a +T just because I feel like spreading the karma.
Enjoy your weekend!
