been trying to get my whole CD collection ripped onto my HD. I recently bought a 60 GB ipod video and I am very happy. but I have been trying to rip a few cd's that I recently purchased and itunes ripping program just stopped... ??? its gets really annoying to restart the computer... anyone got a better rip program. I use EAC for trades and such but when you rip them mp3, they still come out to about 30-50 MB. thanks for the help.

I don't understand - what is 30-50mb, each song? Something's hosed then. I use EAC for this all the time. Didn't like the built-in mp3 encoder, though. Just download LAME, and configure EAC to use that instead. I think it's just under the "Compression Options->External Compressor" menu or something like that. You just tell it where LAME is, and then you have complete control over bitrates, VBR/CBR, etc. It *does* rip each track to wav first, then encodes it in the background while ripping the next track. So you need the free space for that, but it deletes the temp wav files as it goes, so it's all cool in the end.
