Title: Eugene Hi-Fi is looking for people to make tapes with new cables
Post by: cshepherd on March 13, 2006, 09:01:40 PM
We've got a new set of mic cables in for evaluation.  There's not much happening around Eugene and these cables are sitting here unused.  They've got over 100 hours of burn-in time.  They are made from Atlas' Quadstar line.  The conductors are made from oxygen free copper (no silver cladding).  We can order this particular cable factory terminated or in bulk.  Bulk price is $11/meter.  The external diameter is 6.0 mm (bigger than the DIY silver clad cable).   They coil up into a compact round, roughly the size of your hand with fingers extended.  Atlas' mid-level balanced cable, the Navigator All Cu, just had a stellar review come back from someone who used them in the field last weekend.  We think this entry-level cable has a lot of potential for the taping community.  Would you like to help us decide?

We are looking for some folks to make some tapes with these cables to see how they perform for audience taping.  If you are interested in taking these out and using them, please PM me with your rig information, including what brand of cables you are currently using.  All that we ask is that you give us honest feedback of the cable's performance compared to the cables you normally use...and some flac files of the shows recorded.  There's no obligation or cost, other than the return shipping charges.

Any specific shows/dates you have in mind would be helpful as well.

Thanks for looking!

Chris

Thanks, everybody.  We've got some people lined up.  I'll be in touch later today with those who have already been in contact.
