Title: Dither/resample "dumb" question (figured out)
Post by: alienbobz on March 13, 2006, 11:02:35 PM
I just realized that I have been resampling/dithering my 24/48 sources all wrong. I did the dithering first, then resampling. Does it make that big of a difference? I am going to fix myself from now on, but I just want to see. Also, what are some good dither/resampling programs? Did some searches, but it seems like the UV22 is the one used the most, but I can't justify buying wavelab 5 for $500 bucks :P. I use the basic on in sound forge 6.0.

Edit: After making a file of the correct way to do it, I realized why it is better. Sounds smoother when resampled first then dithered. Looks like I have a few shows to fix before I track them :P. Will just continue to use the Soundforge setup for the time being.

I Like waves IDR or POW-R dither, but R8 brain sounds really nice, and is free.
