Post by: Geoff16Fryer on March 22, 2006, 01:03:41 PM
Hey guys as some of you know im a new taper and i have just taped my first show. i ran SP-c4's-UA5-JB3 mics in DIN. ok so my problem is that one the tapes came out decent the vocals are low and the overall sound is muddy. is there a way i can make this tape sound better? i downloaded audacity and normalized it and amplified it and it still doesnt sound that good. anyone have any sugjestions?

maybe the room sucked?? try running XY in the same venue. It helps clean up tubbiness.

when you say muddy, too much bass??

can you post a clip?

i don't think you can do much to make the vocals louder, it is probably possible to clean up the recording a bit messing around with it in post.  However, my general rule of thumb is if I don't know exactly how to make something better, I'm just making it worse in the long run.
