Title: COMP: Schoeps>V2>722 vs. Schoeps>722
Post by: ianstone on March 24, 2006, 10:06:49 PM
for this show http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=23799 i ran a v2 for set one and straight>722 for set two.

On the same stand we also had mk4>nbox>ad2k+>vxpocket@24/48 so there will be even more things to compare soon, when i can find the time to decode/track the other source

i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on set 1 vs. set 2 here...

:)

I did not download your show, but this is my current setup.  putting the V2 in front has always really helped tighten up the schoeps low end.  I find that the internal pres of the 722, although quite good sounding, hype the midrange and the bottom end is a little bloated or "tubby" sounding.  I've made some very nice recordings going straight schoeps > 722, however putting the V2 in the chain has always improved the sound IMHO.

was your experience similar?

i really like what the v2 adds, though i'm not sure its worth the $ and added weight in my bag... nor can i even find one easily...

but i wouldnt mind playing around with one...

I don't think we'd have a problem taking the V-2 off your hands.  ;)
