I actually used this build which includes the patch. D/l to your hard drive and then extract it to the root drive on your iriver. Worked perfectly (and the enhancements are great once I figured them all out)
This is the build of the guy who wrote the rec enhancements, btw.

is this always based on the newest rockbox build?
***EDIT***
dammit!! this packet is insane! too many functions for me ;)
but is there a documention e.g. about the different "automatic gain controls" oder "agc clip time"?

I see a configurable limiter!?
The MT could have this but M-AUdio did not (yet?) implement it...

Not sure which build it's based on (I'm new at this myself!). However, so far am very happy with it.
I also asked about documentation, and apparently they're currently working on a full manual which is probably going to be finished this spring.
There are so many controls/features that it is indeed a bit tricky to figure out - I jsut switched the AGC OFF cause I do'nt use it, but if you go here

I'm sure you'll get some answers (they've been really helpful with the questions I had). That thread is all about rec'ing in RB and the guy who wrote the enhacenments patch seems to read the board and answer q's promptly for which I have been very grateful! The functionality is amazing, but without documentation it's a bit seat of the pants without a native guide... ;)
I believe the AGC is indeed configurable - pretty amazing stuff, really. And the level meters are REALLY good - my first rec'ing with it was on Sunday and I hadn'at even had time to play around with it in tests, so I just based it on the meters and the levels were just about PERFECT. V impressed.

AGC thread is here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=2841.0
The setting most likely to be useful for tapers is the 'safety' setting. That just drops the gain and never increases it. Aggression (how fast/how much it drops) is user-configurable.
Mmmm's builds are usually based on the 'latest' when its built...keeping in mind that its only updated whenever the patch is updated...so i think the current build up there is now a couple of days old.

thanks for your fast reply! my firmware is 060327, thats really up to date :)
ok, will play around with it a little bit and hope to cope with it correct.

The newest build (4-2-2006) has the mmmm's recording patch and the most recent updates he made to it including the fat peak meters, peak clipping backlight and the remote support.
