I just got a minidisc and want to buy a mike so I can record acoustic jam sessions with my friends. Would yall suggest the 719 or the ms907? I just found a good deal on the ms907, like $60, so I want to snag it if that's the one to go with. I know the 719 does stereo - would that be better?

ms907 does stereo as well. I have no experience with the 719 though. Both are roughly the same price, I couldn't tell you which one is better.

both are nice mics to start off with. but I have had great experiences with my 717 and thats why I still keep it. I would go with the 719 as all the tapes I have herd with that are exceptional. ms907 could be a hit or miss at times! good luck! +T

Which minidisc? I am not a fan of Sony mics. I would go wih some AT's or one of the mini mics

i recently heard a ween show (4/8/2006) recorded w/ a Sony ECM-MS907 > Sony mz-n510
and it sounded decent, not great but definitely not the worst I've heard

one of my best recordings was an ms907 > sony md
it was my first taping experience, beck on the his solo acoustic tour. sure it coulda sounded better using what i have today, but considering my setup back then was $200, i'm very impressed.

The 907 is a Mid-Side type mic...I might prefer it...a friend uses one...not bad...
the 719 is more like two electrets...
Save up for a MS957!!! Not as stealthy - but much nicer...

I have used a 907 for the last three years....I think it does a fine job. I started with an Aiwa FM70 MD, then moved to a JB3. I'm going to upgrade to something else in the next few weeks, I figure after three years time to move on to better things. Certainly not a bad mic though
