I know that :P I'm pretty sure it's 20mm, since that's what the a20s accepts. I'm just looking for a cheap alternative to those shock. I thnk the nandy one is for 20mm mics... hopefully its not a piece of junk. I guess I could just my at8410

there's the superlux shock, its only $6, quite low profile, and will hold a kwon bar securely. The downfall, it probably won't last much longer than a year depending on how much you use it, but still, its only $6.

Thanks for the info... These look like the superlux ones but nicer: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-AVANTONE-SSM-Shockmount_W0QQitemZ7410036404QQcategoryZ29948QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I wonder how these would do

shure a 53m...much more solid than the schoeps POS and the AT for that matter.

I dunno... that looks just like the Superlux one to me, and for $20, I'd just get three Superlux one's instead. ;)

also, for $20 you could try one of these (http://www.tensimount.com/).

I've been happy with the Nady ones so far. 5 or 6 outings. Good enough to hold up vark bar and akg actives without sagging. Not as lo-pro as the a20s but much better value.
The superlux ones suck imho. Bought a pair for my spare rig and one broke during in-home testing. One good tightening and the plastic base just snapped.
If those avantone ones are really metal (because they look exactly like the plastic superlux) then they shouuld work well, but at that price there are other options. Those bands have no give to them either and wear/dry out very quickly.
Running it like you would with a kwon bar in it would knock the stealth aspect down a notch or two as well.

Fwiw, I found the a53m mounts to be less effective in stopping vibrations from reaching the microphone than some other options, but they are ultimately efficient in size and ability to hold decent loads (such as vark and actives). They do work pretty well, but with some tests you can see their limitations (better than some, worse than others).

you can always get these too.(which ive heard and definitely make a difference)
