Title: stealth hat config - phantom powered cards, AT853
Post by: bobsmith19 on May 01, 2006, 09:28:08 PM
Hi, I used to run omnis, but now I have a pair of AT853 phantom powered cards.

I have a mesh style baseball hat and was wondering how I should position my mics.

I can either run them HRTF inside the sweatband right over my ears, or about 10-14cm apart at 90/110 degrees in the top (mounted in elastic loops) of the hat.

So what's a good config for cards?  HRTF, or the smaller spaced DINA/ORTF?  XY maybe (tough to do in this hat though I think)?

I'm stealthing a rock band in a small club.  I can get close to the stage, or in the sweet spot...suggestions on where to stand with a given config are welcome as well.

Any help is apprecriated.  Thanks, Bob.
