I will be going to the dylan show 2nd row just off center
so should i use DPA 4061 or go with DPA 4022
It is an indoor arena--but i am close
is there a way to get the DPA 4061 to point more directly towards the stage to decrease chatter that might occur during a dylan show which seem to have some more lower sounding music which more chatter would pick up?
please help
thanks

I'd first delete the venue city from the thread title (stealthing is becoming a BIG controversey here) and go with the 4022s. :)

the 4022s. Ive made some fine Dylan tapes with 4061s, but mostly outdoor or GA where I could move away from chatters. Far too many times Ive been stuck near loudmouths and a great sounding tape has that annoying blather throughout.
post a torrent when its all said and done :)

Either will be fine, but 4022 will be nice. If you're 2nd row, you should pick up too much chatter.

I'd go with the 4061s only because they are cheaper to replace if you get caught :-X

I had no issues getting mics, b box, and a jb3 in to a Dylan show earlier this year. Good luck.

Do they have legal recourse to TAKE your mics? Or can they just make you leave? Personally I'd throw one gigantic MF'n hissy fit if some "security guy" tried to take my shtt.
Really though...can they just take it?

Absolutely not. If you are caught taping, thus violating the contract you entered when purchasing the ticket/entering the facility, all the venue can do is void said contract and ask you to leave. Never give them anything. If I was caught (still hasnt happened, knock wood), I would ask that my gear be checked in/put in a locked room until the performance was over and enjoy the rest, if given the option. Otherwise, take your lumps and leave. Perhaps put the gear in a car and try to re-enter to see the rest of the performance.

I have heard multiple stories, but can't verify anything about how agro Dylan's security can be. The most memorable is one involving a bucket of water that they carried around to dunk gear in. Again, I have no idea if this is true or not, but if a couple of guys bigger than me catch me and want to destroy my stuff, there isn't much I can do about it at that moment and maybe even later. And I wouldn't believe that the police or an attorney would be much help. I think there is a member here who got his gear confiscated at a U2 concert a while back and still hasn't gotten it back. >:( I'm grateful for the people who take great risks to stealth concerts, but I don't have the balls. +Ts to you guys.

they seemed more concerned with cameras then mics last year when i saw em, the cops and security walked by and looked at me several times on thier way to bust people with cameras while I was standing there with mics on a hat...
