Title: SP-CMC-8 and M1 settings? Phantom used
Post by: emalvido on May 04, 2006, 01:14:32 PM
Hello:
Just received today my SP-CMC-8 with Phantom Power
Will use it along with my M1
Im upgrading from OKMII/R
Today is taping day, I have no time to test so just want to ask if I leave the settings of The M1 just the way I have used them? I suppose yes right?
They are like this: Manual, Line IN, and 48KHZ
Also a recomendation?
Taping will be in a huge open air venue, imagine an outdor festival,  planning to be as close as posble either left or right stacks.
thanks
Ed  ::)

Using this Phantom:
DEN-PS2-MINI - DENECKE - PORTABLE STEREO 48 VOLT PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY WITH MINI PLUG OUTPUT
along with
AT8533 - AUDIO TECHNICA - AT8533 PHANTOM POWER ADAPTER 2 sets
hooked to
the M1
So, my new rig would be something like this?
SP-CMC-8>AT8533>DEN-PS2-MINI>M1

As a matter of fact the package arrived at home a few hours ago, Im at my job right now.
Havent checked it yet.

You will probably discover that you will need to add some gain in order to get good levels on the m1 via line-in.  I went with the Hosa MIT-176 line transformers and have been pleased.  You can always boost the recording in post until you get the transformers.
