Title: V-3 trim knobs
Post by: balou2 on May 07, 2006, 09:41:48 PM
Anybody switched these out?  If I remember correctly, the V-2 had trim knobs that were like miniature versions of the gain knobs.  The trim on the V3 are flat.  I would LOVE to swap these out the V3 trim knobs for the V2 ones.   Anyone got a thought on this?

[CAVEAT] I've never opened the V3, so I don't know how it looks inside.

I agree with that...I wouldn't want them to lock like the stepped gain, but they're a little difficult to turn.  I'd love something that'd stick out a little further.  Maybe I'll just email Grace and see if they could hook me up with knobs...can't be that hard to switch out.

The knobs should be pretty easy to swap though I like'em.

I really like my trim knobs. I think theyre really useful for getting the levels just right. lol, they might be my favorite little thing to do while taping. When I ran the u89s for the first time, I found the trim knobs as my best friend to dial them in  >:D

I, too, like the knobs that the v3 comes with.  It's easy to dial it in even with just the tip of my finger.  With smaller versions of the gain knobs, it seems I would have to pinch it to turn.     maybe not with the variable gain.

Regardless, I think there's just a tiny set screw holding them on.  Whether or not grace has them, your email response will determine that.  Good luck and as always, post pics  :)
