I'm thinking of adding the hypercard caps to my existing omnis and cards. I'll be going to an arena-sized event, where I'll be sitting near the rear of the arena, maybe 150 feet from the stage. Would running the hypers in a DIN-A (90 degrees, 17cm) config give me a good effect, or am I better off staying with the standard cardioid caps?
All help appreciated...

no real help other than to say... collect them all >:D

maybe it's just me... but from that far back in an arena, I'd probably just run A-Bish. point them straight ahead with maybe a little bit of an angle towards the stacks.

+T for the "collectors" out there. Hell, if people can collect useless shit like sports cards, I can collect mic capsules!

Oh yeah, I ran SUBcards the other night. Really nice for up front in a small, good sounding room, with an acoustic act with a bit of PA.

I'm not really hugely technical, but the few times I've run Hypers outside or in larger venues, its worked well. I also use the rough angles above as its stealth.
Also see the Rolling Stones Toyota recording from Dec last year using Hypers..great recording.
