Before I start, T+ goes out to Teddy in Germany for helping me get ahold of some M27 caps for my Gefells.
Having not run omnis (outdoors, et. al) before, I remember reading that wind did not bear as much effect-wise (phasing, etc.) when running omnis (vs. cards, hypers)
Is it possible to forgo using windscreens? I've always run Shure A81WS (and love 'em) but if I need windscreens, do I need to go so far as running these? Can I buy some less expensive windscreens and do the job?
Just looking at options. I plan on running 4 channels and the Shures will already be in use on the M200's or M210's.
Any help much appreciated :-\

The wind is less of an issue, but not that much less. Unless it is a very calm day I'd run the screens.

Anyone familiar with Windtech's screens? They seem very affordable.

get whatever kind of windscreens you have the $$ for. and then make some deadrats for them

I use them and with Dead Cats they are fine for outdoors and indoors without dc's.

Eric.....are your mics about the same diameter of the AKG 480's (I would think so since you are using the shure's). If so, I think I have a set of stock screens you can have.
