do you have the correct input selected from the record menu? either Mic Line or Optical
-
Line in is selected. Hooked up my D* and it was getting signal from same input. It's coming direct from my Beyer mv100 analog output. My frined had his JB3 hooked in the same way at govt mule at the clavin and his worked fine.

I would smash it with a big brick that always gets things into record IMO. if the brick fails read the JB3 FAQ and if that fails read the #!@$ manual.

make sure you have the latest firmware. also maybe do a disc cleanup too just for good measure. also try using firewire as a connector to the pc, and make sure your pc isnt bugged with porn viruses or anything. maybe do a pc disc cleanup > defrag

actually, a lot of problems occur when you use fw for updating firmware.... for whatever reason, the jb3 likes updates via usb.

Just for the record. The 3 jb3 I have updated none of them have ever been via usb and none have ever given me any trouble.

When I bought my JB3 newly refurbished in box, it came with an install disc that was corrupt. Didn't matter as the firmware on it was old anyway. I was directed by a friend to this website:

and I downloaded firmware that was flawless. It sounds like that is the problem, if you are only getting to 95%, you are not completing the install. This should help you.
