Title: Transferring from MD via Sonicstage... (Is it recommended??)
Post by: Liquid Drum on June 04, 2006, 01:48:45 PM
Hey,

In the past I have transferred my recordings using Sonicstage as I have a Hi-MD (MZ-RH910).

Is this a good way to transfer recordings??

Is any quality lost?? (Obviously, I transfer to WAV.)

Thanks for any help.

It's the way I transfer.  And unless you plan on running a line out of the HiMD into another recording device (CD recorder, etc.), it's the only way AFAIK.

FWIW, SS would be best quality transfer.  Using a recorder would create another link in the lineage, & still require you to get the show onto your PC.

Some have had trouble with SS, but I've had no issues with newer versions.  Upghrade to SS3 & you should be fine.

SS 4.0 just came out a week or two ago and seems pretty rock solid.  There will be a new version coming out when the RH1 comes out sometime this month.

Thanks for the info, really appreciated.

I'm currently using (I think) SS 3, but as I have a Hi-MD, it transfers with ease, I just wondered if thats the best method.
