Open the disc image, drag and drop the xACT monkey icon into your Applications folder. Eject the disc image, and then move the icon from the application folder to your dock.
See if that works. Sounds like you didn't fully install the program onto your computer.

Hmmm.
Are you sure you didn't download an incompatible version of the software? I know Scott wrote a new version for Intel machines. Check to make sure that you downloaded the right version.
I'd also post a note on the Mac Geeks thread. Scott regularly checks that thread and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out better than I.

Ok, here is a dumb question, why are you still running 10.3? Once you go to 10.4, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. There are some nice little things too, but application stability seems to have been increased.

i am running 3 still
i am going on the if it ain't broke don't fix it, thought about going to 4 though--i have the damn disc, maybe its time to check it out

you'll be amazed at the speed increase in going from 10.3 to 10.4
-
OSX is the first operating system I've ever seen that gets faster with each upgrade. Even on a very old Powerbook (I think the oldest to support an OSX install), it ran faster and was more stable than OS9. That was simply amazing to me.

Thanx for the tip on the correct version, i tried it, and have now backed up to version 1.4b28. im still running 10.3.9 because of some issues 10.4 has with some design programs, we've finally gone to it at work, though its been a hassle, and i never use all the silly "new" stuff. Whats a widget anyway, I think i'll stick with the regular old calculator for now!

i couldn't care less abut the widgets..i just love the 10.4 speed...
