Title: HDP2 digi in
Post by: OOK on June 10, 2006, 12:04:03 AM
Has anyone fed the HDP2 a AES/EBU digi signal....My question is has anyone taken the AES/EBU digi out of a minime via an XLR to RCA cable and fed it to the spdif input on a HDP2?   The RCA digi out on my minime is a little flakey..just curious.   :help:

in addition to taping shows, I also use the HD-P2 to transfer a lot of Phish DATs.  on the R500 DAT deck that I'm using, the coax out is a bit flakey, so I use the AES output.  however, I'm not just using a XLR > RCA cable, I have a Canare impedance tranformer to go from the 110 ohms to 75 ohms.
it works great, and if you were planning on doing this consistently, I'd also recommend that you get a transformer to avoid an impedance mismatch.

Keep up the good work with those transfers, Jason. I've picked up a bunch of previously uncirculated gems from bt.etree.org. +T.
