This small sony recorder is the only unit that gets past the hand held wands and pat downs.

Maybe it's been a long day, but I am so confused to why there is a poll here.  ???

Only one? I'd imagine an IRiver would. :)

I think he is trying to ask. He was taping a show and accidently removed the battery before stopping the minidisc. So he now has a minidisc that did not close out the TOC. He wants to know if he can recover the music on the disc.

If the question is how to recover data by fixing the TOC here's a link:

http://www.minidisc.org/cloning_procedure.html

There's also a few places that will do it for you (search around)  or you can go here and do a search:

http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=idx

Hope this helps???

battery needed for recording, answer is no unless you put the battery back in.

In that case you may want to try audiohack, if you were recording a wav file and can copy the crusty remnants to a 'puter.
If it was in that MD native file format, I couldn't say.
