First I apologize if this has been addressed before.
I just got a used JB3 and I love the sound especially with the line out and headphone amp combination. I do use it now a little bit as an MP3 player but here's the problem:
I am having problems playing wav files. I can play 320 kbps but when I try to play a wav file, it says "play back error" and it does not play. Any suggestions on fixing it?
never heard of this one, but the first thing i'd try would be a defrag of the hdd.
If you record a .wav onto the JB3 does it play that back? Is it some kind of odd sample rate/bit .wav you are trying to playback?
I agree that the hard drive would be a good place to look first.
what firmware is on it??

I've recorded 16/48 sources from dvd video concerts (going optical in) and it played them back just fine on my njb3.
I tried recording in wav and the playback was fine. It's just that I cannot play back wav for CD tracks. 320 kbps plays fine though. I'll try to see the firmware. I'm not sure how to do it but I'll check and see.
to see the firmware version go (from main menu) > settings > about. first thing will say "version ......"
Ok, for the firmware, it says 1.40.06p
