Hello all I thought I would tap the knowledge of all on the board. My Step dad recently gave me a pentax 1000 and a bag containing 9 lenses. I don't want to use them for analog. What I was wondering is if these lenses will work on say a nikon d-50, d-70. I think they will fit everything but a canon from what I have been reading but just thought I would ask.

The pentax mount is different than the nikon mount. You should be able to use them on a pentax DSLR, but they might have limited functionality to them, meaning that they might only work in full manual or aperature priority mode. Hope this helps.

I found a comprehensive list over which Pentax 35mm lenses are compatible with the DSLR range:

most likely you'll be able to use them, you'll just need an adapter ring. I'd ask over on fred miranda or on dgrin.com and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Seconded on dgrin. real friendly and helpful folks over there who are happy to answer questions, similar to this board.

Yep, my only complaint is I wish it was set up more like this board. Its hard to keep track of posts over there. They have a subscription feature, but it doesn't work as well as here.
