Title: LSD2 owners.... can someone do a quick favor for me?

I need to start working on a Dead Rat in order to have it done by 10KLF in two weeks, but won't have my LSD2 for another week. Can someone provide measurements of the mic w/ windscreen so I'll have specs to build to? Please measure at the widest points:

The length is 7", but you should know that this only covers the capsules, the mic extends another 5" down (so your diagram is a bit misleading, but the caps are all you have to cover).  The provided windscreen is 7", however, and its external circumference is about 12" (or about 4" diameter).

thanks a bunch, Jeff. so the diameter of the windscreen is 4" at the base?! wow, that seems pretty wide... but it does make sense.

I don't think you should try making the dead rat 'till you have the mic in hand.  I put mine together in 2 minutes with a sewing machine, wrapping a pice of fabric around the mic (with windscreen on) and sewing a seam across the top of the dead rat/mic and then continuing down the back.

My concern with estimating the size of the mic/windscreen and making the dead rat in advance is that you'll end up with a cover that's either slightly too small and thus won't fit, or slightly too big and could flap around causing noise.

The outside diameter of the LSD2 screen is the same as the Shure AS20 screens. If you have access to one of those, you can use it as a stand-in
