Just got one of these things, and so far it seems amazing. I haven't had a chance to run it in the field yet as I just got it yesterday. I was supposed to go to Billy Idol tonight but I'm sick, so no show for me tonight. :( But testing it out at home it is pretty damn sweet.
Only problem with it is that it's too wide for my Rakgear Deluxe and too deep for my Rakgear Slam, so I'm going to have to figure out another way to run it in the field... But if things work out I'll probably run it in behind the MBHOs at DMB on Saturday. ;)

And you wondered why my rig was on top of my bag?
Try turning it 90* to get it in the bag and run it that way in the back pocket with the zippers so you can access the front and back panels (there are 2 zippers on that pocket of your bag, right?).
I found a glitch in my 24/96, as you know ... CoreAudio stream overran the disk. I have no idea why that happened, but I'm going back to OS9 and DP3 until this shit gets figured out.

I was going to try my first 24/96 tomorrow in Spark XL. I've had no problems with 24/48 in it...
Did you try Spark?
-
No, though Scott also told me I should. Honestly, I see no reason NOT to go back to OS9/DP3. Digital input is messed nonetheless. At least OS9 runs comfortably on the Pismo.
My ULN-2 is at Metric Halo for the week along with a sound file from the most recent glitch, the system.log from when it occurred, and a page of test conditions I used. Hopefully SOMETHING will lead them to the solution between Scott and myself.

I ran it last night at DMB in Raleigh. I had some battery issues and it my recording shut down before the set ended, but what I got sounds great. 24/96 worked flawlessly... I wish this thing was smaller, but I think I have a new favorite toy. :)
-
What battery did you use with it? I have a 12V 12Ah that's overkill that I use. I want to get a 12V 7.2Ah at some point and put a 4-pin XLR on it rather than the size M adaptaplug that I currently use.
-
I ran it off of the firewire bus. I have a valance, but I had some iBook battery issues - it was draining the entire way down to the concert and I only had 30% left when I got to the venue. You're supposed to only use the NCharge if you're laptop battery is full, but I tried it anyway... The laptop tried to take too much juice from the NCharge and drained it too quickly...
Oh well, many other tapers there so no big deal. :)

>>24/96 worked flawlessly<<

it's a nightmare for me

Here's a very short clip from the DMB show in Raleigh. If anyone wants a 24/96 flac to hear it better, let me know and I can upload it to ya.
