Title: Neumann windscreens?

Any suggestions for windscreens for the ak-40 and the ak-20?

The screen that came with my 40 is dry rotting and the ak20 didn't come with one?

any suggestions?

You can get screens from neumann.

I use the DPA screens with mine.  The windtech screens barely hug one set of caps and slide off the others that are a smaller outer diameter.  (I think the 40s are fne but the 43s are about 1mm less in diameter).

I use the DPAs but I'm in the process of getting some the WS100s. All you will ever need...except in a hurricane. Both would do you great. Although I haven't experienced that hurricane wind.

i would look and see if neumann made a specific m/s windscreen... since you are running a 40 and 20 (and dont have another 40).  i know shemps makes one...

pm DP (pilgrims622 on here) and ask him what he uses for a mount and a windscreen.  He posted pics at one point on here.  His mount is not neumann but concoction he came up with.  I have seen him use it and is quite nice.  He also uses a different screen.  I'm sure he could help steer you in the right direction.

Thanks yall.  I have no idea why i posted this in the pre's and A/D forum.  Damn post speghetti dinner lethargy....

I saw the neuman screens but thought they were a bit pricey for foam...(46.50 for the ak40)...
but I guess I'll stop being a cheap ass and get some good screens.

THanks for the help and suggestions.  I'll post a pic of the ghetto M/S mount I made when I get home.
I think it is sweet.

FWIW, I used both the DPA UA0896 and Shure A81WS with my AK40s when I had them.

I use the schoeps WMS windscreen for the ak40/ak20 combo...Neumann does not make a windscreen that fits the active style neumann setup, but the schoeps works just fine...I also use the schoeps WB windscreen for blumlein for same reasons

as for the m/s mount I do have a neumann sth120 mount...very pricey at around 220...I would suggest looking into the schoeps m/s mount which retails for around 150 and will work just as good as the neumann
