Title: Foam for Jerklin Disk? and more..
Post by: ho on July 13, 2006, 08:57:46 AM
My omni's arrived and started a j-disk to use this afternoon, so this is quick setup. Searched for all other the place and everybody has there own thing. I went to Micheal's Arts and Craft shop and picked up a circle foam. Will this work for the isolation or do I need something better?
I glued some fabric to the foam. Mounted it using duct tape to a SP mini microphone mount around it. So on the fabric there is some tape, will this effect anything?

Will the foam, if not covered on the ends, make any diffence? And or the tape?

It is hard to say. The guys ive heard from reccomended not having any hard reflective surfaces such as the clear tape, wood, etc...you really just have to do trial and error.
