Title: CD Wave split tracks at 24bit can't be flac compressed with Flac Frontend?
Post by: winisp on July 24, 2006, 07:15:03 PM
Repro steps:
00. Track out 24bit / 48K files in CD Wave
01. Save tracks (do not click "Use alternate 24 bit format")
02. Drop tracks into Flac Frontend and encode (flac 5, with verify)
get an error which is : "warning found non-standard 'fmt" sub chunk which has length = 40" error: unsupported compression type 65534.

Any ideas? Help file in CD Wave has no info on alternate 24 bit format. Also, the original 24bit file with compress in flac frontend before using CD Wave so i am pretty sure it is a CD wave issue.

Thanks in advance...

As a side note, the flac frontend won't compress 192khz files but you can do it via the command line.  I have a simple batch program w/ the correct settings to run from the command line if anyone wants/needs it (PM me).
