Title: Anyone using DPA 402 6/7/8's ?
Post by: CQBert on July 29, 2006, 11:52:46 AM
Looking for a stealth mic for small clubs - Wide Cards work well there.

Also - does anyone know if you purchse the mic w/ the cable can you then by just the capsule for regular card or omni?

Schoeps does not allow this in the CCM Lemo Series and I am curious.

Thanks!!!

Scott Schneider archives for Brother's Past and runs 4027s - there should be all sorts of stuff up on archive with his source

There are no separate capsules for the DPA compact microphones. The capsule is the whole microphone with the preamp/body electronics integrated inside, just like the Schoeps CCM.

right, I think he is asking though, can he buy 4023s and 4027s (I think the 27s are the lemo version) without cables, so he can save a little $$$ if he already has cables from buying one of the other DPA lemo offerings

unless there is a lemo connector then the cables are attached to the caps, so the caps cannot be interchanged

They make a lemo version for all of the Compact Mics...

Just got an email from DPA - more later this evening.

They seem willing to work with me at this point!....

Need to talk turkey but they are encouraging me to purchase a Matched set with the LEMO connectors and then go factory direct and they will try to sell just the capsule portion...

No pricing and this is NOT a normal deal... will know more in a few days, they are doing some research for me.

Way to go DPA and think out of the box!

Hey CQbert, just curious what the word was from dpa on this. Seems like a cool way to save some $$ with multiple capsules.
