To get the mods you have to purchase the unit from Oade.

I ran an unmodded 671 a couple of times and then sent it in for the ACM. It's worth every penny :)

I am trying to find a all in one unit that will not brake the bank. It just needs to sound good with my MBHO's and get me to the end of year so I can get the rest of the money to pick up a SD 722. ;D PaullySC thanks for that little bit of info I know that oade don't mod any thing that was not got from him I have a oade w-mod Ua5 and love it. I was looking at the 600 or the 671 becouse I have a friend that works for a stor that sale Marantz units. That was why I was looking at this units and whanted to know if any one other then oade did mods on them. If any one has any other info in what they think I should do I would be very gateful to hear it. Thanks all for the help.

Buy a mod ACM PMD660 from Oade and sell it when you get the 722. It probably will not lose much value when you resell.
Might not want a 722 after you hear the box. :P

I read something on the oade site today about them modding units not bought from them but it depends on the serial#, I believe its just older units.

We are now offering our Basic MOD for any machine with serial numbers below A10305 XXXX XXXX (no new design machines). This cost 150.00 for each machine plus 25.00 for return shipping and insurance via FedEx ground. You must obtain an RMA to send in a machine for this service. Our 90 day limited warranty applies only to the parts we install, not for the entire machine. Please understand our MOD voids the warranty from Marantz so we will only upgrade 671's that are out of warranty.
Please e-mail the Sales Desk. to obtain an RMA number. Turn around time is approximately 10 business days plus shipping time.
All other MODS are available only on machines we sell, sorry but no exceptions

But the SUPER MOD of the 671 (which was until now "availability and price TBA") disappeared ... :'(
I was waiting for it for a few months....

...looks like they'll be doing the SUPER mod on the Tascam HD-P2's
-
on the mod page for the 671, i believe the super mod blended with the acm when they moved it - is this right?

Super Mod is for Nature Recording... real low level super quiet stuff. Opposite end of the spectrum gain stage wise but ultra quiet.

What is the "newer design" machines Doug mentions on the upgrades pages for the 671 and 660? Are there now two different versions of these recorders ???
-
On the 660 I know they changed the native voltage (Up to 5V) of the mainboard which allowed for use of some different op-amps... hence the Birth of the WCM that I now have!!
-
I wonder... was the 671 changed?
-
So they've done a new spin of the board for the 660. I wonder if the audio quality is any better on the stock unit now...
