Title: FLAC Question - Encode as Disc or entire Show?

When I FLAC my files should I being doing it as a Disc or as the entire show?

i have been doing the entire show in one session, but i'm wondering if the Sector Alignment will adjust in between discs where its not necessary.

I normally do it by disc and never had any problems so far.

if you're using flac to fix sector boundary issues (and you do have sector boundary issues), it's best to flac an entire set at a time.  This way, if you end up burning the show to dvd or playing the show via pc, the entire show would play seamlessly.  If you fix sector boundarys on a disk-by-disk basis with a set spanning more than one disk, Flac frontend will pad the last track of each disk to fix the sector boundary issues.  This could make the transition between the last track on the disk holding the first part of a set and the first track on the disk holding the second part of the set a bit choppy.

i have always done it thatw ay but i have never heard any weirdness where one disc ends and anotehr begins, i listen w/ foobar2000>pcoptical out
>receiver and have never heard a pop or c lick, disc by disc is a pain for me

I guess, but remember that a sector is 1/75 of a second, so in the absolute worst-case scenario, you're getting 0.01333 seconds of the end of the first disc at the beginning of the second disc. If your ears are golden enough to hear that, you shouldn't be listening to 16-bit audio anyway. :)
