Title: External battery pack for Edirol R-09 and Microtrack
Post by: soundpro on August 02, 2006, 10:27:20 PM
Hello all:

Just wanted to let you know that we came across an external Li-ion rechargable battery pack for the MT2496 and Sony MZ-RH1 HiMD recorders. We ran time tests on both and we got an extra 8 hours run time on the Microtrack and and extra 26 hours on the Minidisc.....not bad at all. The footprint is almost exactly the size of the Microtrack and about half an inch thick. It recharges from a USB port and connects to the recorders with a USB cable. We are also going to make a cable adapter so that it can work with the R-09....more to come on that.

If you are interested, I am posting the purchase details in the retailers section of the board......don't want to ruffle any feathers, but I thought it was important enough to metion here, as the short battery life of the MT2496 is mentioned often and the lack of an add-on battery holder is one of the few issues with the RH-1.

Take care
