Title: good mics for the active interface shoe on camcorders
Post by: kidrocklive on August 24, 2006, 09:08:29 PM
I just bought a sony dcr-pc1000. I know it doesn't have a spot for an external mic however I know that sony makes "external" mics that go into the top of the camcorder (the active interface shoe). I was wondering what the best mic was that would go into that. I'm not sure if there is another company that makes good ones or if it's just sony that makes them. I'd preferibly like a good stealth one so that I could use that for both stealth and open shows but I'll see what is alll "out there" when I hear back from you guys. Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi kidrocklive,

the mics I bought recently(2 weeks ago) should be perfect for you.
I don´t need them cause I mainly tape rock-concerts with high soundpressure(bass drum), and therefore these mics are too sensitive.

I am talking about the "Soundman OKM II POP/AV" mics with an A3-adapter included which is a battery box with bassfilter(on/off) and -20dB switch(on(off) for very loud situations. They are made for camcorder´s mic-in.
Usually these mics are put into your ears(red one right ear, blue one left ear), they look like headphones.

The price of the new set is at least 185€.(mics 120€; A3-adapter 65€)

If you are interested, drop me a mail.
I live in Vienna(AUSTRIA).

my cam doesn't have mic in, which is why I asked for an active interface shoe mic. Thanks for the offer though.
