Anybody using one? What do you think of them? The new one, the e280 8gb, is debuting next month. I think I might switch from my hard drive player and get a flash player. I see it plays video & pictures, onboard mic, fm tuning & recording, removable battery, etc. Bigger screen and more features than the Ipod Nano. Looks like a steal for $249.00 MSRP. Cheapest price I've seen is $216.00

I have the m240 and it is fine. That is the 1gb w/o the screen. Doesn't play flac and doesn't do gapless playback for the negs. I've had it a little less than a year and it hasn't had any issues. Leave it in my car quite a bit and haven't had any heat related problems. Quality is fine and sound is fine.

I got the e250 a few months ago and promptly returned it. Two reasons:
1) Sound quality. I could hear it accessing the files in my headphones (Shure E3C).
2) It didn't always power on. I would hit the power button and the scroll wheel would turn on but the screen wouldn't come on. It was like playing roulette with my MP3 player.

To be honest, I would never use cnet as a resource for reviews. Head over to www.dapreview.com

Found the review.

I'm gonna give this thing a try. I've been using a Creative Labs Jukebox Zen USB2.0 for the last few years. I use it mainly for travel, walks through the city, and mowing the lawn. But its a little bulky.
I really like the sleek design of the flash players. The HD players have served their purpose for me, but I like something I can have in my shirt pocket and forget about it. I also like the extended battery times you get from them and that the battery is replaceable. Probably a purchase in early 2007. I expect a bunch of new ones released in time for Christmas.

cnet is really good for an overview, especially of consumer electronics- i like to take a look at the editors ratings and the users ratings as a starting point for research- if they are really low i can just cross it off my list

Bumping this back up.
My dentist has the 280. He records his favorite radio show via the FM tuner. He can't figure out how to get the recordings off his Sansa and onto his PC. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
