Title: Good portable playback speakers?
Post by: bconnolly on August 29, 2006, 07:20:52 PM
I have an iAudio X5 and I want to make a little boombox using it, a pelican hardcase, some small powered speakers and a lithium ion battery.  I'm going to use the pick 'n pluck foam from the pelican case to have the X5, the speakers, and the battery (for the speakers) sit snugly in the case.

I'm looking for recommendations on some small speakers that can be powered with a generic lithium ion battery, are able to fit in this case (http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1200) and sound fairly decent.

I really don't know what to google for.  Fry's had a few pairs of Sony speakers but they either a) used regular wall plugs (not something I could easily power remotely) or b) were all open-box (meaning they had been returned because they suck).

Any recommendations for speakers in this application?
