Post by: scervin on August 31, 2006, 05:41:20 PM

when did they come up with the lame "V" names?

VR-2s are now "The Vigilant?"

THE VANQUISH -VR-11

THE VALIANT - VR-10 Mk II

THE VALOR -VR-9 SE

THE VAST - VR-7 SE

THE VANTAGE -VR-5 SE

THE VIRTUOSO - VR-4 SR MK II

THE VIRTUE - VR-4 JR Mk II

THE VIGILANCE - VR-2

THE VICTORY - VR-1

The new site is far uglier than the old one.

The upgrade info is in the FAQ.

This is what blows me away...

WHY THE SAVINGS...
* The 30% discount shown assumes you will donate a working component (speakers, cd player, receiver, etc) to the charity of your choice or send it in to us so we can donate it for you. This is part of our "Share The Music" campaign to provide music to those less fortunate [ ::)], please support our program. For more details on this program: click here.

They are either lowering their prices or making a move to cut their dealer network out.  I don't know how they can offer these prices to dealers as well, unless they were making a ridiculous markup before the new pricing structure went into effect.  Either way it's slim shady, especially to those who paid full price from their dealer network.  If their dealers can't offer the newly-reduced prices to their customers, there will likely be a flood of dealer demos up on Audiogone in the near future.

Agreed.  I'm now thinking about getting Jim Salk's HT line when the time comes.  He lives a 1/2hr away so not only can I see the factory, but also listen on his system.  They look nice and get great reviews, but are a litte $$$.

well, you got a deal on yours bro.
you got my price.  I think they were 2250 or 2500 retail back then.  what are they now?
great freakin' speakers.  i'm sure i'll own another pair of those.  I just wish they were more like 95db so I could power them w/a weak tube amp.

btw, they are not going internet direct.  just one offering.
I spoke with Damon VonSchweiket this morning while ordering replacment drivers for my (Teddys) VR4s.

Why do the vendors seem to be dumping VR4JRs on agon?   I've seen several pair around $2400.
