Title: iAudio X5: WAV Recording with latest Rockbox firmware

I know the X5 isn't the best for recording, but I'm sure a bunch of you guys probably have one lying around that could be useful for backup/stealth.

Instead of using the subpack (doesn't lock into X5) you could make your own locking line-in cable:

This guy might still be selling homemade cables:

So i'm wondering with the new firmware and the cables that the guy is making if you can get a digital input into the thing.  Any guesses?

I'd love to use something like this as a bitbucket.

Digital input or output is interesting, is it possible through the connector at the bottom?

Anyone tried recording Wav with the latest rockbox version, does it sound OK??

See the bottom of this thread on someone recording wav with Rockbox.

Not too sure about digital input.  There are some threads on homebrew cables but nothing gets into sending digital SPDIF signals.

Since I'm in the market for an MP3 player, I'm thinking of going this route.  Being able to record shows will only be an extra bonus.
