I think I broke the optical-in on my JB3 today. I heard a pop and now I am not getting a signal. I have tried several different cables with no luck. I searched the Creative website with no luck. Does anyone know where I can get this fixed? All the local electronics shops say that I have to go through Creative, but Creative's website says it is no longer supporting the JB3 and I could not find a phone number. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is in the FAQ I looked and did not see the answer. Thanks again.

JB3's are no longer supported by Creative.
They won't even let you see the manual anymore.

Which is why I laugh when I see people recommending new tapers skip DAT and get a JB3. Replacing an outdated format with an unsupported machine seems silly. At least ProDigital will keep our D8s, M1s, and DAP1s running as long as we want them too. Your JB3 breaks - you're fuct.

So as far as you guys know, NOBODY can fix this thing?

If Creative cant help - "Swandells" seems to have some parts...
might be worth asking about the part you need...(if in fact the jack is actually broken...)
http://stores.ebay.com/swandells
Do you think the jack is broken or did it just come loose from the board?

I am not sure, I am not good with electronis so I do not want to take it apart to check. The cable was plugged in and then it got bent up so maybe it did just pop out of the board. I have spent hours on the stupid Creative site just looking for a phone number that i can call to talk to someone. I appreciate everyone's help on this.

I've been into my JB3 right to that connector. I soldered and unsoldered it (ok and soldered it back again.) If all else fails... I'll look at it for you. For postage and Karma.
