Title: Rode NT6

Hey now,
Saw this while browsing the other day.
Looks like a lowend MBHO 603a.They arent offering stereo sets and card caps only.
Wonder how they would sound?

No shows with these on the archive (that I can find, anyhow). I'd be interested in knowing about this as well.

These are identical to the NT5's in build, only these have a active cable set up.  The roll off in the highs is the same as the NT5's which is steep.  The nt5's are only ok, up close.  Far away they sound like crap to my ears.

I use the NT5's as overhead mics due to their high SPL (it's like 152db or something crazy like that). They sound great. I'll gladly supply a sample, if needed. They're great for drums, but I wouldn't use them for taping...cm

Of note,  read somewhere online about a new line of rode condensers w/interchangeable caps something like nt55?  Lost the link but will try digging it up!!

It's an inexpensive stereo hyper thingy
(a little presence boost, of course)

Tony Faulkner(the legendary Classical Recording Engineer) uses Rode NT-5s as spot mics, FWIW.

cant be too bad! He also uses home depot extension cord for speaker cable.

My buddy wires console-internal 75-ohm digital interconnects with twisted pair.
Says anything under 5 feet will not make a difference...

Isn't he the guy who developed a spaced figure-8 'phased array' config for classical recording?  Ever try that Teddy?

Yes, he is the one. He is a classical guru! I have tried it a couple times, though I am not familiar enough with it to make any judgement.
