Post by: dank on September 26, 2003, 12:26:10 AM
OK, so Im stealthing Springsteen this Saturday... borrowing 4022s>PSP-2 from a guy but ownt be getting the gear til about 60min before the show... and the guy dropping the stuff off isnt the taper, his buddy going to the show... i know im gonna want to run the pre at the low gain setting, but since ive never used this pre, anything else i should be watching out for? besides gain/power/phantom, are there any other controls on this?

will be 4022s>PSP-2>modSBM-1>M1 FOB/DFC on the field.

Make sure your phantom is set to 48v, gain at -35dB, and the inputs are set to mic level.  You're gonna have to fine-tune on the sbm.  Set it and forget it!

you're gonna need either 1/8>RCA or XLR>RCA to go to the sbm, though

any difference in the 1/8 (i assume 1/8" stereo not 2 1/8 monos?)  and XLR outputs?
I have some nice Audio Magic XLR>RCAs, but going 1/8>RCAs would be less bulky in stealth mode

Pretty sure they're the same, the XLR outs are on the same side as the XLR ins so you're going to have cables sticking outta there anyway.  I'd go with the XLR's just so they don't pull out as easily.
