I saw a reference on another forum to Sontronics microphones. I visited their website and noticed that the body of the STC-1 is identical to the Peluso CEMC6.
Does anyone here have any experience with the STC-1 and whether or not it is as close in performance to the CEMC6 as it is in looks?
P.S. I did notice that the specs on the STC-1 aren't quite up to par with the CEMC6 (Response of 25Hz to 20kHz vs. 19Hz to 25kHz, self noise of 16dbA vs. 14dbA)

they do look like the same bodies.
i think i read somewhere that John Peluso buys his parts from all over the place to assemble his line of mic's, I think the bodies come from china, so my guess these guys are buying the same mic bodies but the technical spec's would make me think they are different on the insides.
wonder how they sound though :-\

The adk sd mics have a very similar body too. Like oniontaper says, he (John) gets the raw materials from all over. All his mics though are hand made and hand assembled. Not a factory job. I'm sure Nicks Picks can elaborate more.

Twin sons of different mothers?
I think for the sitomoation, it's: "a brother from another mother"

they're all from the same factory.....i guess?? ???

the body casing for the adk one I was referring to has a different finish and the vents(?) at the top are a bit different. Haven't inspected the one in the pic up top firsthand but the body is very similar, just a different company name stamped on it. Probably the same machine shop/factory in China making the body housing. Would make sense to outsource the actual machining for small operations such as Peluso.

Hmm, the M900 has a frequency response of 30Hz-20kHz and it's self noise is 18dBA... Seems like the clones aren't quite able to match the real deal.

yep..i was thinking about that. maybe it's the chart for the hyyper capsule ( the photograph has that capsule) ;D

Based on the prices I've seen of other CharterOak mics, I'd expect the M900 to go for just as much (if not more) then a Peluso.
BTW, I also noticed no matched pair of these being offered on the website :(
