Title: Multichannel amp
Post by: nlights on September 15, 2006, 05:09:27 PM
I am looking for a multichannel Receiver/Amplifier in the roughly $1000-2000 range.

That would lean more toward the muscial side instead of the movie/theatrical side of listening.  This would be used for /SACD/DVD-A/DVD-V

Anyone have any opinions on what reciever/amp that i should consider in this range?

Any help would be appreciated...

I am rebuilding the system from the gound up so the speakers will be later added.

Looking at the B&W 800 series maybe?  unsure?

I know that i am probably putting the cart before the horse here doing amp first, but mine went on the fritz and lost right side channels

It is a must replace first...

Amp brands that come to mind:

Rotel
Adcom
McCormack
Parasound
Pass labs (might be out of the $$ range)
Carver
Musical fidelity (not sure if they make multichannel)
Outlaw audio
Rogue audio
BAT
VTL
